Hi,

First post, though been lurking for a while.

Does anyone have a cheap UK source for a headphone adapter for the 8800. I've tried a generic 4 pin one but it didn't work.

(minor note to admin, the security check letter/numbers is way too hard!!! Took me five attempts to get it right)

chances are the nokia shops (both online and high street) should stock a convertor
failing that, froogle it, or try electronics companies like maplin.co.uk
or maybe even studiospares.co.uk
the former is general electronics, inc. home audio etc.
the latter is a studio and livesound products shop, but may sell the relevant adaptor youre after

Which one did you buy? The only four pole adapter I can see has a post in their FAQ saying it didn't work with a Blackberry.

Thats the exact same one as Seidio's. Dunno who actually manufactures it. I have it and my only complaint is that the answer button rattles if you use it for voice. If you are talking and moving at all it gets REALLY annoying. Quick fix is to put a piece of tape around it. That secures it from knocking around in its housing.

Really wanted to find a UK company as the shipping from the US is as expensive as the adapter.

May have no choice though as this is the only one I can see that appears to work.

how does it work?

i bought an adapter hoping that all audio would flow out of the audio jack, but nothing did. is there a setting somewhere that you have to enable?

Sounds like (no pun intended) you have a generic adapter that doesn't work with the Blackberry.

I've ordered another cheap one which claims to support the 8800 off ebay. If it doesn't work I'll have to go for the Sedieo one.
