My first post. Setting up Manager's BB. Got everyting working with Corporate Email and everything seems ok, but there's one thing I'm having trouble with. In Phone mode, it shows My Number: Unknown, I've read the Blackberry User Guide on how to change and show the number but, Under Options, SIM Card, "Edit SIM Phone Number" is missing, only shows ID. Also in Phone, General Options, "Show My Number" option is also missing.

T-Mobile BB, with t-zones app, but says Cingular Wireless at top. Got T-Mobile bill. Weird.

How long has the BB been activated with that SIM card? When I purchased my first BB, the phone number took almost 24 hours to populate in my SIM.

It was switched over from a manager to another manager. They turned it off and reactivated it Friday July 22. It's the same phone number the previous manager had.

It should not be taking so long. I would call your service provider and see if its on their end.

Last time I had the same problem and TMO swore by that the provisioning has been completed, I took the battery out and reinserted (same as hard reset). Then the phone number came in.

It's also missing Backlight Brightness option. Do you think by upgrading the software to 4.0 will bring all my missing options? Will upgrading erase every setting?

There is no backlight brightness option as far as I know. There is a backlight timeout option under Settings, then Screen/Keyboard.

The 7290 has a two stage backlight, but the 7230 only has the one brightness setting.

for the 7290 the backlight button is in the bottom right hand side..smallest button.
