Got an SRP dropped on our UK boxen, try to manually verify srp and it says Connection Timed Out (10060). Tried same address from our US server and same result. Anybody else seeing an issue with this address?

srp.eu.blackberry.net along with uk and gb all resolve to the same IP 193.109.81.33 apparently. I just got word that the 2 hours was an estimate, the end of the maintenance is at 6AM GMT, so hopefully within the hour it will be back up.

They might be pingable but they aren't making connections. We are now almost one hour beyond the window end time and still the EU infrastructure is down. RIM states they have no ETA and I can expect a communication from them on Monday what has happened and why we were not notified of this outage.

If this happens again in the future, are we allowed to re-point our BES to a different srp address? We currently use srp.uk.blackberry.net on our bes4.1 and srp.eu.blackberry.net on our bes41 (both of which resolve to 193.109.81.33). Should I be able to use srp.us.blackberry.net or srp.ca.blackberry.net ?
I did try the swapping to .ca, but it didn't seem to work, but the .uk/.eu site started working so I stopped investigating.
If you are allowed to tell us the post-mortem of their problem, I'd love to know it too.
According to RIM you can re-point to a different SRP host name theoretically. First of all, there are only 3 worldwide datacenters, US, EU and AP. So regardless of country they will redirect to one of three main datacenters.
Second, I tried rerouting to the srp.us.blackberry.net however it did not work. I think some sort of authentication still needed to occur back to the EU datacenter, so it didn't work. Oh well. Just waited and yes it came back eventually at ~8:30 GMT. Have not heard from RIM yet.

Let me explain this. In theory you should be able to but what happens is this:
As an example, you have a BES in EU. Your connecting to srp.eu.blackberry.net. In order for you to connect to srp.us.blackberry.net you have to tell RIM to migrate your SRP. They purge your SRP info from the EU servers so that your SRP doesn't exist anywhere. You change all the info to connect to srp.us.blackberry.net and it will work at that point.

Yes I forgot about this! We transitioned an unused US SRP ID a few years back to the UK and had to have RIM re-register it for the new region. Thanks for the info.
