Thumbs up What I Use For Making Ringtones, MP3 File Conversion, Uploading, Etc.

Please Login to Remove!

First off, just wanted to say hi...new to the group and new to BB (had the iPhone for 3 days and hated it.)

Just thought I'd share a proggie that I use, Wavepad...it's been excellent for trimming music files into ringtones, saving corrupted songs, converting just about anything to an mp3 or other audio format, etc. I think of it as the "Irfanview of audio".

Used it for a long time before getting my BB but I definitely appreciate it more now. Pretty easy to use. Never had to buy the license to keep it, either...

WavePad Masters Edition

Also, I realize you can drag ringtones on the DM, but if you're ever prone to using an uploader for whatever reason (having DM problems or away from home), this uploader seems to be one of the better/more reliable ones imho...

Free Ringtone Uploader - FunForMobile

PS, my fiancee is on here (Steph)....thanks for helping me out through the posts she was putting up about my initial DM problem. Decided to stop making her my muse and just sign up me-self.

LOL...no foul play, I swear. Trust me, when she's not in here, she's constantly messing with her Curve. Our marriage next year is just for sh*ts and giggles.

One more thing I'll recommend is this (case)

BlackberrySource.com - Custom Dual Flip BlackBerry Curve Case

Had my first drop tonight and the phone bounced like a rubber ball, not a scratch...great case, admittedly a little bulky...but it protects the device well and it's versatile (i.e., you can snap off the flipover-flap portion.) Steph and I both have them and are really pleased with it. Delivery only took 2 days.

I'll recommend Audacity (google for it) as a very good free audio editor. You can even get a no-install version that'll run from a USB key from portableapps.com.

Simple enough interface, lots of power, etc.

Haha...thanks. Do what I can.

Don't want to be a forums-leetch and just ask questions, so I'm always happy to share whatever I know/can. Stilla BB n00b but have some background with file-formats, etc.

Haven't had my BB long, but I've picked up on a few things since I bought my gf's Curve for xmas and my own a few days ago.

Except for the case, I used to use the prog and site I mentioned in this thread for my pathetic Samsung flip before I even became a Crackberry-head.

Wavepad really is an awesome prog. Easy to import any format with identity issues (i.e a wav, a corrupted mp3 or an iTunes, etc.) and re-save it as a genuine born-again mp3 for BB.

Plus, needless to say, Irfanview rocks supreme as the best free prog for mods re: images, wallpapers, etc...

Cool.

Any upload site that delivers the goods and doesn't spam your email or phone afterwards is ^5 by me....

I also use audacity. As far as i am concerned that is the only thing to use. Free, I can cut what I want. I can fade in and fade out. Most of my ringtones sound better than what you can download.
I love it. LOVE IT. LOVE IT

One more vote for Audacity. I've been using it for several years for all audio editing. It's free and it works.
