I will admit to temporary insanity. My wife got a hold of a Treo from Sprint so we dropped Verizon and my Blackberry for a TREO 755p. Mine averaged 2 lockups per day with the highest being 4. One thing when they tell you that the phone will "roam" it also sucks the life out of the battery. The Treo was roaming while at work so it would last about 4-6 hours before crapping out. Sooooo, I am back on a stable network (Verizon) with my 8703 and my wife has a new 8830and is now officially a blackberry addict. I actually had to tell her to put the phone down. I promise to never never never never leave my blackberry for a shiny thing again.

Also I don't care what anyone tells me, getting email on a Treo is horrible.

Much like you, I had a blackberry from Nextel a few years back and decided to leave for a shiny new thing...first T-Mobile's sidekick (which was bad but not nearly as bad as the next phone i fell for), then the Motorola Q with Verizon. Though I was happy to be back with Verizon, i was extremely angry with the Q. I decided to get back into Blackberry land two weeks ago, and i picked up the 8703e...I'm in love. And with the help of these forums im doing more than i thought possible. Point? I will never leave Blackberry again.

I tried a Treo for about 2 weeks (yes I am admitting it). . .at first it felt like I was cheating. After a few days I got over that feeling, then the reality of using the Treo set in. . .
You mean I can't . . .(list is too long for this forum). I will never leave Blackberry again, I too learned my lesson the hard way.

It's funny how we all feel we're "cheating" when we even THINK about trying out a new phone. I was in the Apple store a few weeks ago fiddling around with an iPhone (gasp) and my BF accused me of infidelity. But there wasn't a chance of me replacing my Curve with one of those.

The Treo is made by Palm.

I am not sure if you used the Windows version or not.

Palm had it's glory days but it is now gone.

They are working on a new Palm OS but it met delays and more delays. They hoping it will revive the brand again but we will see.

Here's a interesting fact, the Palm OS is actually based on the Linux OS.

I started with a Kyro 7135. (In its time, great)

Then a Treo 650

Then a Treo 700

Then a Q

Then a BB 8830.

No contest.

BB and 8830 best ever.

The rest are BB wanna be's.

My wife still thinks they are pretty cool. She grew up on the Palm OS, and loves touch screen. She went through two 600's before swithcing to an HTC Wing. She likes the Wing fine, but pines away for another Treo.

bad news

i was just informed i will have to carry a Treo 680 or 750 to become familiar with them so i can provide the same level of expertise with them as i do Blackberry!

told my boss and his boss that that would not be possible as i do not believe in the treo product

Living in FL, the big issue I saw with the TREO screens was the humidity. The moisture would get inside the glass. This helped bring me to the bb.

I've had a Treo 650 (through Verizon) for the past 2 1/2 years but have grown tired of its large size, frequent freezing/hanging/crashing, difficulty/tedium when checking email, and limited RAM. I'm about to take the plunge and buy my first Blackberry, the 8320 through T-Mobile!

My BF just ordered a Treo 700wx from Verizon last night. I hope it works out for him because he sees how happy I am with my new BB and I would hate to see him unhappy while I'm so happy. Yes, I really, really, really would hate that. Oh, would I ever hate that sooooooo much.

Oh man, at least you know how I felt.

I had a SPRINT/NEXTEL store, we also did repairs. We were nextel for like 3 years, then they finally intergrated us with sprint. At first, they let us sell sprint phones, cool not bad, it made us more money but seems like the treos never sold and people were always coming back (literally everyone that we sold it too has regretted it after 3 months or less, there were maybe 2 customers I remember that were completely happy). But when we had to start repair sprint phones, OH MAN...hell broke loose. There were times we literally wanted to burn down the store, and the main culprit, people coming in with their treos and their problems.

Well, now the store is sold and its now someone else's problem. LOL.

but from my experience, the Palm OS seems much better than the WIN version. Actually all the windows phones were pretty bad, had lots of problems and complains, but literally everyday it was the treo, prob cause everyone wants a dang treo for some reason.

Heck yeah! You can give it away, or better yet, throw it out a window and watch it smash into bits.

I had a Treo 650, and there were quite a few times I caught myself begging out loud to the phone to please please please send my email. 20 minutes of pleeding sometimes works.

Actually there was one good thing about my Treo. There was this app on it called pTunes, which I swear is the best MP3 player to have ever graced planet Earth. Wish those guys would make that same app for the BlackBerry.
