i would definately appreciate that. i have not been able to find even a whisper of a download anywhere else. i find it hard to believe that only 1 person came forward with a review.

Sling Media - Home of the Slingbox

it streams over an internet connection your cable/satellite/other AV source and lets you control it *sometimes in a limited fashion depending on the device* just like you were sitting at home. you can be anywhere in the world and watch your home television for instance

You plug it in to your cable/cable box and your router and you can watch your cable TV anywhere you have an internet connection. Great for us Americans who only speak one language and have nothing to watch but CNN International and BBC when in Europe!!! (thats me.)

its streaming video so i would guess its most definately not. one thing we are lucky about in the states is that almost all of our data plans have unlimited bandwidth. (or so the carriers claim)

hehe, well thats nice to see.

Here in norway the mobile network cosist of pretty much new hardware and high coverage of UMTS (3G). I believe its not that common in US and the network is kinda old.

Yet your prices are beating the crap out of us.
Here unlimited data plans cost about 80$
and 1mb cost about 2$ if your not on one one.

Guess thats how the cookie crumbles in a country which got a way to good economy.

The lowdown on T-Mobile's BlackBerry Pearl 8120!
Posted Dec 16th 2007 10:37PM by Chris Ziegler
Filed under: Handsets, RIM, T-Mobile, GSM, EDGE

We're sorry in advance if we're ruining anyone's plans to give or receive a T-Mobile branded Pearl 8100 for the holidays, but you know what they say, don't shoot the messenger. Word on the street is that T-Mob will be replacing the 8100 with the WiFi-equipped 8120 on February 18 (it could've been selling them already, but there's apparently a push to clear out the 8100s for the holidays first). The initial model will be gray and will feature a redesigned keyboard and trackball along with an external card slot -- in other words, much of the same joy Verizon, Sprint, and Alltel customers are already enjoying with the 8130 -- with the addition of Hotspot @Home support like its big sib, the Curve. Only question left is, how long until we can get a full rainbow going?

There's more to the 8100 > 8120 upgrade than just WiFi.

The fonts are sharper, the PIM apps look more appealing, the browser and media apps are richer, and there's a myriad of minor tweaks, for example a sender's address pops up when you hover over it, rather than having so scroll to "show address".

And of course the WiFi is great - the speed actually makes Google Maps useful. But no UMA on my carrier, so I guess I'll be paying for phone calls for some time yet.
