Default Can I make email none push?

I have a Curve with AT&T with no data plan. I would like to configure my BB to only send & receive when I tell it to in order to avoid high data bills. AT&T says this can't be done. Is this ture?

A BlackBerry is push only.
You can not "request it".

Your question asked was AT&T telling the truth. The answer is yes, they are

The 'Yes' answer was in response the the question in your Post, not the subject.

Q: Is this true?
A: Yes.

Why are you worried about high data usage? Doesn't AT&T have unlimited plans?
How would only checking when you wanted to limit the data? If you have 50 emails, it doesn't matter if they come one at a time or all at once.

I am going to go buy a Hummer, then join a Hummer Owners forum and figure out how to drive it without having to buy fuel.

This is EXACTLY the kind of thing we've been seeing on these forums for a while now, and it's getting worse. I can't take the noobs whining about the cost of data plans and scheming about how to game the system. "But.....but....but....why do I have to pay for that.....?" Freakin' whiny adolescent paper-route having cheap "wanna have a Blackberry because they think it looks cool" "can't wipe their own butts yet but gotta look gangsta with da berry" pukes. If I could put 'em all in one place I'd line them up and give them the Three Stooges Moe multi-slap. Right down the line! Powpowpowpow.

Man, I feel better now!

I third that opinion. I wish the carrier's would only sell a BB with the dataplan. That would solve so many problems and fix many complaints.

And one mote thing if I may, why do people refuse to pick up the phone and call customer service ? Many of the questions they ask here can be answered with a call to a person supposedly in the know.

they are losing out on a ridiculous amount of profit. those data plans are very very profitable for the carriers. should just sell a regular phone without data and a DATA device with a DATA plan.

Man, this T-Mobile 3G is sweet! And the download was pretty small, something like 42KB. I can't believe this has been built into most Blackberrys but disabled by the carriers.
