I've already got VZAccess installed for my KPC650, although I never use it (VZAccess Mgr that is - I use my KPC650 about 4 hours a day)

I tried using my MTN for the password, and I get the same error :(

Of course not :D

I'm not paying $15 a month for that!

I'll try using the MTN of my KPC650....maybe that'll do it...

Edit: That didn't do it either :(

Can you provide me with documentation that states a 8700g cannot be used as a tethered modem?

i did all of the steps and downloads for a sprint8703e model and this is what happens...

i go to connect and hit go and it says connecting for about 5 seconds then switches to dissconnecting and an error message comes up that reads

"Unable to connect. Diaul-up networking error #678 has occured"

i'm beyond confused and frustrated right now and could use some help!!

Do you have the BB desktop manage running?

Try restarting the Sprint software.

Also try disconnecting the USB cable and re-connect it.

Then ttry again. That's how I got past the error.

Default Tether tweaks? Sprint 8703e

Anyone know of any tweaks to get speeds faster on Sprint's 8703e? Right now I have a reading of 291kb on 2wire.com. Can anyone help out? Thanks in advance.

I have a question, does 8703e as modem is compitable with window Vista ? can i use 8703e (sprint as provider) for laptop to connect for internet use?
the reason i asked is because i called support tech at sprint, few months back and they told me it is not compitable yet for modem use. otherwise you can still back up and etc. so i m just confirming this here....hope someone has the answer? if so, instructions? for using 8703e on vista

this might sound silly

Default Is anyone connecting to Outlook 2003 via tethered modem & VPN?

We are using VZW 6.5 software integrated with our VPN. Internet works fine but have not been able to connect to Outlook 2003 on my laptop when using 8703 as a tethered modem. Exchange Server is not using RPC over HTTPS.

Has anyone been able to connect to Outlook 2003 or 2007 via tethered modem?

Thanks!

reviving and old thread...

I can get my bb8703e to dial over bluetooth on Verizon. I havent enabled the $15 feature yet (gonna do that tomorrow) so I get a password error, but can anyone confirm that they got this to work first?

Also, when I disconnect (or make a call) the phone still says "modem mode enabled" at the top of the screen. How do I make that go away when i am "done" with using it as a modem. The only way I get it to go away now, is to turn off wireless and then turn it back on.

I get error messages on my 8707e (Alltel) once installation is complete sayng that the modem is in use, etc. It seems like a firewall issue or something similar, but it still does not work when I disable all firewalls. Any ideas? It recognizes the modem at first and shows the bars, but some software is keeping it from running.
