This is a very very well written, attractive and effective piece of software. If you use ICQ, I highly recomend trying it out. And if you are a java wizard, and able to implement MSN, YAHOO, AOL modules to work off of the ICQ infrustructure -- you would have a LOT of people thanking you!!! In theory, the application was designed to make this "easy"

Am I wrong but isnt it ICQ compatible with AIM these days? I remembered I saw that somewhere before that if you were an AIM member you could message ICQ members and even add their ICQ number to your buddy list....but I never tried it...

And if so could you then use this client to message AIM members as well?

I know AOL bought ICQ, so in theory, yes, you should be able to go cross platform. I'm not sure how it would be implemented in BlackChat, though. If you have a bunch of AOL buddies, you might want to give it a try and post your findings...

Well I havent installed blackchat yet but using my native AIM client I can add an ICQ member and communicate that way...

I guess I will install blackchat tonight and try it out and then post my findings....if it works that would be pretty cool!! 8)

I tried webmessenger for a while, but couldn't get it to synch right with my MSN and AOL list.
I am waiting until our BES is installed to Mimessenger and then I will decide which one I want to pay for.

I am running Blackchat, its really pretty nice and I donate to the developer (you should do so also if you use it all the time ) but within BlackChat you only can message an ICQ user not an AIM user ... or I do something wrong ...

I have been using Webmessenger for a week now, and it works really well. I use MSN and YAHOO, primarily, but also manage to get a fair amount of SPAM over ICQ :D

I wonder if anyone still has their original icq id, they were terrible for sending out lost password stuff back then.

I am 1454*** (seven digit). (masked, since it's mainly for friends, family and work only)

I had a five digit or six digit UIN then (can't remember) but lost the password.

Same here, which shows how many members they had, becuase I think I signed up back in 1996...

I guess you could always drop $450 for an even nicer one:
