Default Read receipt on BIS, why not on BES?

Please Login to Remove!

Given that regular BIS users can now request and confirm read receipts, when will this be added to BES? Why was it excluded from the latest MR?

Probably because read receipts are one of the stupidest things ever. Considering every client can ignore them (including every one I touch), and they simply generate wasteful traffic.

That said, I do love <confirm> ... use it all the time.

Is there a way to block <confirm> from showing in the recipient's subject line? The reason I stopped using it was because of that. Read receipts are automatically sent if the user reads an email on the BB unless the admin has disabled sending of those receipts via the reg hack (most BB user's we have dealt with do not have this disabled).

Read Receipts can be automatically stopped on BES with a Registry entry.

I like Read Receipts. It's helpful to know when someone has read your e-mail. Its nice to know when people get something and start working on it ASAP. Or when someone lies to you and gets back after 4 days and says "oh, I just saw your e-mail now." "Ya, then why did you click on it four days ago..."

I guess I just don't trust people...
