Default My Black Curve

Please Login to Remove!

I've been planning on painting a Curve ever since it came out. Last night I decided to do it. I used a scratched up faceplate from a broken 8300. The scratches revealed that the faceplate is actually black plastic underneath the clear and silver paint coats. So I used a 600 grit sandpaper to sand off the clear and silver. Then I used 1200 grit to smoothe it all out. What I got was a really nice flat black that matches the rubber sides. No paint needed at all. Check out the pic...sorry it's not crispy clear, I used my brother's Pearl to take the pic.
8320 with the black faceplate and silver bottom piece.

Default Black Curve

Good Job, it looks cool. I love mine too much to try anything like that.

That is awesome! I too have always wanted a black Curve. One of the few features of my Pearl that didn't improve with the Curve.

I've been checking cnn.cn regularly with the vain hope that they will get a black case for it. Your idea seems like a good solution. I guess now I'll just buy one of the other color cases and head to the store for some sandpaper!

Thanks for the post!!

More photos please! I might try this tomorrow...I love how that looks. Maybe I'll work on getting a more polished look after I get it to look like that.

Doing this to my 8310 would look even better - the area around the screen is black as are most of the keys. But, I love the red too!
