8320 was fine before upgrade, now the only thing i lost was the favs icons looking to restore now, other then that why not upgrade to an os that was made specifically for the curve?

I havent had a chance to upgrade to .180 yet, but I was wondering what the general consensus was - is it better than .175, the same, or worse?

Thanks!

Default Will the T-Mobile Load work on AT&T?

I like the performance of the T-Mobile load but want to have it on my AT&T 8310 is this possible?

How can I do it?

Had some minor performance issues initially, which I later learned were due to some issues with the T-Mobile Hot Spot I was trying to connect to. Overall, it connects to wi-fi much quicker than it did prior to the upgrade for me.

This thread is for the 8320 and the T-Mobile .180 OS upgrade; you have an 8300 and are not asking questions that are related to this thread's subject matter.

I too lost my MyFaves icons. A battery pull caused them to re-appear.

Note that when I try to browse for additional MyFaves icons I get:

Edit myFaves
Icon - change icon
Get More Icons

"Either your rate plan or device is preventing you from using this service"

Then there is a t-zones home link - which when I click it appears to take me to a UK text version of t-zones.

Still looking for a cure for that one.

Sounds like you bricked it - wipe with JL_cmdr, load the OS fresh and restore your data. The closing of the lid (which I assume triggers suspend/sleep) cut the bits flowing to the device which is the same as if you unplugged the cable.

PS: look for the transient "LoaderBackup" IPD file on your computer -- that one is a mega-backup that includes the 3rd party apps that the OS upgrade process made during it's work. Restoring that, if possible, would be your best move. I would also load the *old* OS first and restore that LoaderBackup, then try the upgrade again? (maybe, sounds logical at least)

Thanks a lot Rivviepop. what ended up happening is I got a "fatal error..." on my laptop. I restarted the desktop manager and app loader and it just started from the beginning with "unknown PIN". After the complete upgrade it recognized my pin and all was okay except 3rd party apps didnt restore, so I manually did that.
Thanks again.

By the way, for me personally, I dont see much a difference in wifi speed over the .175 but I haven't tested the UMA extensively yet. Everything else seems the same as .175 to me.

I don't know if it was present on .171 and .175 but I'm now getting a new calendar attendee/invite option for choosing the message service for calendar invites that I didn't notice before: (you have to first invite an attendee and then this option shows up.)

See this thread:

I wish I never did this, my UMA was working fine and now it drops calls like crazy. The first time I used UMA I was on the phone 2 hours straight, now I spend 20 minutes, in the same location and the calls drop. I did find that the WiFi speed was much quicker and as usual this phone finds signal quickly (unlike my Dash). Like everyone else I did notice the arrows moving quicker, but I never had problems reciving information in a timely fashion. Any clue why my UMA is acting up?

Also, last night for the first time, my phone lit up (on its own, untouched) and froze with the hour glass showing on a white screen. I had to do two battery pulls to get it to stop and start over.

Question UMA Reception bars

Hey all. Upgraded to .180 and had the same calendar problem one of the mods had....thanks for the help for fixing that.

Another odd thing thats happening is that I'll be lets say 3-5ft away from my router and ill only have one bar for my UMA (router is a WRT54GC (Compact))....before I upgraded I was able to get full bars....anyone else experience this? Any solution to it?

Thanks.
