so i assigned some pictures for my caller id to people in my address book. works great, except for the when callers that are assigned as myfaves. instead of getting the larger picture id i get for the other contacts, i get the stupid round circled myfaves icon, which i did not create. i guess it does that by itself. any way around this?

Is their an option within MyFaves to select a custom avatar for your contacts? If all you have are the standard icons that come with the MyFaves app then that will probably override any other icon for those in the list.

Yes, you choose your own icon for MyFaves.

Click the trackball on the MyFaves icon you want to edit, then when you get to their screen, hit menu and choose "edit contact". Scroll to "icon" and click on it and you can choose your photo which you will "crop and save" within the circle to fit in the MyFaves space.

Or, you can go to your pictures folder and select a picture, then hit menu and select "set as MyFaves icon". Then it will show you list of MyFaves and you can select the one you want to assign and do the "crop and save" thing.

thanks for the help guys, but i guess my post isnt clear. im terrible at writing.
what i want to know is, is it possible, for when a person that is a myfaves calls me, for the caller id photo to show, instead of the myfaves icon. the myfaves icon is small and round, the caller id photo i set in the address book is much larger and works great for when other people call me.

It could be a default setting to let you know for sure that the incoming call is in fact being credited as a free MyFaves call rather than a regular call.

You can also try zooming in on the photo when cropping and saving. Then the person's face will be larger and easier to see.

AFAIk the myfavs icon completely overrides the caller ID photo. On my girlfriends myfavs equiped blackberry we did as pcgirl suggested and made the myfaves photo work well enough.
