Some of the 'canned' url's in the t-zones on my new 7290 come back 'requesting' for a minute or two, then say 'A communications error has occurred'.

I looked at a url, like google, which is stored as 'www.google.com/ncr'

If I go to that in a pc browser, it redirects right to 'www.google.com'

So, 2 things:
1) It does not look like redirects are honored in t-zones
2) Worse problem - on 'canned' url's (the ones in 'web links', you cannot edit/change or delete them!

So, as an example, to use google, I need to add a google url as a new entry, and ignore the canned one.

Finally, you cannot add url's to the system 'web links' folder!!!

I have yes; I prefer to use Google U.S.A. rather than Google U.K. so I need to use the URL http://ww.google.com/ncr so I am not redirected to the Google U.K. Web site, this is not supported with the BlackBerry's for some reason!

Thinking though; I am an Web site developer and redirects usually incur on the server (a meta-refresh is a very old way of doing things) but Google is extreamly Java heavy! Perhaps Google uses client-side Javascript to redirect its visitors... if you've Javascript disabled on your BlackBerry then this would not work and the request would be persistant with no response from the server (the server would be wating for a response from the client).

Technical I know but I think that's why it happens!
