Default TMO Curve- How to encode video??

Please Login to Remove!

I tried the Pearl 8100 sticky instructions on video encoding (using Super8) but I only get the audio and no video. Do I need to change setting from the instructions on Pearl when encoding to Curve. Please help. Any other freeware software that is easy to encode video to see it on Curve??

Thanks!

try the blackberry video converter, as suggested. and whatever resolution they suggest for the 8800 (can't remember off the top of my head what that is). The 8800 and the 8300 have the same screen size, I believe. Definitely nicer for watching vids than a pearl

They do, but the 8800 can't do full-screen video with the native player, while the 8300 can. So convert to full 320x240 resolution when you follow the instructions.

res use scale=320:180 for wide.

i use mcoder personally, its easy and quick

mencoder -vf scale=320:180 Movie_DIR -o OUTPUT_DIR -of avi -ovc lavc -oac lavc -lavcopts vcodec=mpeg4:vbitrate=300:acodec=mp3:abitrate=64

really nice quality too

So about how big are the resulting files with those settings? It would be content specific, but I'm thinking normal TV shows and the like.

((64 kbps) + (300 kbps)) * 30 minutes = 80 megabytes

Ahh OK... didn't notice that was specifying a fixed bitrate there. I've never encoded video with a fixed bitrate, it has always been variable.

My bad, good catch...320x180, not 240. I'm still in MDA-video land But on the 8800, I had to encode to something less so the clip didn't have black bars on both sides (no full screen).
