Giving it a shot now. My Pearl came with a voice note app preinstalled. It works very well but you have to pick the recipient from your address book each time you record a note. That would make it difficult to use as an idea capturing tool while driving.

Default Nextel Notes

This is very cool...brings back the old Nextel Notes feature that I miss more that PTT after switching to ATT. Well done.

No, it will work only on:
8100 (Pearl) (some, depending on the ROM version)
8300 (Curve)
8800
8830

Record formats supported are:
AMR (standard phone’s audio encoding format, played by Quicktime and some other players on desktop)
WAV (standard WAV file)

I installed this on my 8830 from Verizon and get the following error message after recording and pressing the send button: "java.lang.NullPointerException"

it says "uncaught exception"

any ideas?

I have emailed cust service with the same problem. They are unable to reproduce it on their end at this point, but we are still trying to work through it.

I actually was able to reproduce it today. So we're working on it. I do have a few questions:
1) does it happen on every launch, or just some?
2) What kind of email account do you have setup on your BB?

It was only happening to me if I had one of the two types of audio files selected, when I switched to the other type... no error. I can't remember which worked and which didn't. Sorry, my trial's over and I'm still debating on purchase, otherwise I'd try to reproduce it.

Understood of course! I was able to reproduce myself, but Yuri our lead engineer on BlackBerry (I'm experienced with C++/Win32, not Java) cannot reproduce it yet. So I'm working with him on trying to find and fix the issue. Give us a few more days and I'm sure we'll find and catch the crook in this case.

I'm still in the free trial period and it doesn't not let me change file types. I can select the other one but when I save, exit, and re-enter - it has switched itself back. None of the settings save.

Your Comcast account is accessed via BIS so it isn't a matter of either/or.

I'm running it on a Cingular 8800. I only get the error in a very specific instance. We are trying to debug it...unfortunately the BlackBerry debugger is not working well for me, so we're having to do log traces which takes some time. I apologize for the issue - we are working on a fix.

I have the trial version working and I'll probably purchase today. I have a VZ 8830 with the latest OS.

Downloaded the trial but 'save' does not save a changed email address - voicemail gets returned undelivered from default address 'mail@voiceminder.com' so I am unable to trial it.
