Exclamation Contacts - Too Many?

Please Login to Remove!

Hello - I have a user who continually gets the error:

Intellisync
"Unable to write or update application data"

This happens when he tries to sync his contacts. I have researched the BlackBerry knowledgebase, but it keeps happening. He has 4,000+ contacts, does anyone know if that could be the issue?

The BlackBerry Technical Solution Center has more information on this error

2. The BlackBerry device does not have enough memory to synchronize organizer data.
3. The BlackBerry device user's organizer database contains invalid information.

8. The BlackBerry device address book contains a blank contact.

Usually the problem is a corrupt contact but it doesn't tell you which contact is the problem.

I think the problem is a corrupted contact file as I have 5400+ contacts in my 7130e. Now the problem is finding the problem contact.

The new BlackBerrys with 312Mhz CPUs and 64MB of RAM work great with these 4000-6000 record address books our salespeople like to carry arround. Our customer marketing list is about 45k people. It's been a big money maker for us for sure (more so that any notebook computer upgrade). Even our executives are carrying about 500-1200 record address books (mostly due to their "professional networks"). I'd say the salesforce are using about 1k of their 5k address books. Which is good. I'd rather have them have too much info that not enough. As long as they bring home the bacon.

Mine is a measely 169 records in comparison. Much of it are my friends, family, and professional network of people. Most of the work-related stuff we keep in a shared IT departmental address book (looks to be 594 records, of which about 2/3 it is probably useless or out of date). Which coincidently yields about a 200 contact threshold that many people (and manufacturerers who make phones with c.256 contact limits).

The summary is there are business cases for these 5000 record address books.

Could be a corrupt record or even a blank one. Have seen that screw it up more than once.
