Sorry if this has already been asked. I just installed color pearl on my 8100 and it seems to work as advertised. BUT..... it has turned off the backlighting behind the keypad. How do I turn that back on? Thanks.

Does the keypad lighting come on if you go into a darkened room?

i have a problem too. It works great! but the backlight under the trackball keeps coming on and off. When it comes on it bleaches out the color and it isn't brilliant as much. This seems to be a random thing, so i was wondering how do i keep the white under the ball perma off?

That is normal. The white trackball LED comes on (in addition to the colored trackball led's) when the ambient light is reduced to a certain level as measured by the sensor near the flashing led.

I'm not sure but is there a setting where you can change that?

There is no setting to change that. However, I did remove my trackball assembly and place a very tiny piece of black tape over the white LED. that keeps it from washing out the colors. However, if I disable colorPearl then I get no trackball light at all.

Yep, i beleive it is as follows:

1)Settings
2)screen/keyboard options
turn off "automatic backlight"
