Ok.... I don't get it. I just went to T-Mobile's web site to the bbupgrade page and clicked on the 8100 and when I look at the pop up windows it gives me the options to download Handheld Software (v 4.2.0.64). This sounds a lot older than what yall are talking about. What gives? Where would I get the latest software from T-Mobile?

Cool Bluetooth Icon missing

Anyone else experience this after updating: The icon to turn on/off bluetooth has totally disappeared. It maybe a coincidence, but I no longer have a device paired with my Pearl. Any suggestions or thoughts??

For whatever reason, that setting didn't backup or didn't restore. Simply re-pair your device(s) and you will get the icon back.

Let me explain,

Lets say the 5 key contains letters GH, the multitap bug repeats the G twice while im trying to get to H. Hope you understand the bug.

Try using SureType, at first it's a pain in the azzzz but once you get the hang of it, it's a breeze..

103 is working beautifully for me. It's the first update I've done since 64. I'm just glad they fixed the goddamn calculator!

Hello,

I just purchase the 4 gig mirco sd card and based on posts on another forum I will need to upgrade the OS. Yet it seems that there are problems with this upgrade. Any new info? Thanks for the help.

I have not had or noticed any problems since I upgraded. I guess I'm one of the few lucky ones....

No, I only have a 2gb installed, however, the 4gb does work with the new OS according to others on this form.

Question Problems Reconnecting to the Network after Power-Down

Hi. I followed all directions, and upgraded my BB OS successfully. Everything seemed fine, including not having experienced any of the other problems <knock wood> that others have outlined here.

I do have a small pain though, though it's intermittent; and that's when turning-on my phone from any type of power-down, my BB will sometimes not reconnect to the network properly; basically, the "EDGE" under my signal strength indicator will stay at "edge" in all lower case.

To fix it, I must do a hard reboot when this happens; then all seems fine.

Any thoughts? Ideas on fixing this? Or is this not even related to the upgrade?

Thanks!

I'm a BIS/TMO customer.

Now I'm getting random dropped calls. Annoying. The device is slower accessing photos too (at times). I see the hourglass now and I never saw it before this update. Clearly this OS is a bug magnet, at least for me, and I had no problems before. I don't need a 4gb card. So the one and only advantage of .103 over .64 is the backlight display option. And that was a feature on version .42, so they just undid something. That's it. The different calculator theme is nothing. Media player is the same look. I cannot delete email from my server/handheld, only from the handheld, a huge minus. Really I think this OS is worse than .64. Bad job RIM,Tmob. As soon as I get home I'll go back to .64 it and not upgrade until there's a new feature that I want.

There is supposed to be a 4.2.1.107 upgrade coming out in a few days.
