I think this is an 8100 specific problem I'm having.

I use the Gmail application from Google. I have a problem where without exception, Gmail app will freeze up my 8100 after a certain number of characters and requires a battery pull. It never freezes on other handhelds, just my 8100. I've reproduced this every time I try it. In effect, I can't write very long emails using the Gmail app. I have reinstalled the application and it still happens.

I'm on a Cingular 8100 v4.2.1.96.

Same issue. It's a pain writing a long e-mail just to have it hang all of a sudden.

I'm using version 1.1.0. That's the latest download from Google. I hope someone knows the fix. It would be so nice to be able to use this application. Its so much more slick than messing with all the filters, etc to avoid the double emails when sending from the Google account.

I'm curious why its just an 8100 issue and doesn't happen on other models.

I have determined that 13 lines is the limit I can type before the Pearl completely locks up. I can reproduce it. What a bummer. I don't want to use BIS for gmail so this is really a trouble spot.
