OK...so I had a few 8800's, all with the squeaky build issues. Finally my screen started to go, so I called AT&T. They sent me 2 refurbs, both with issues....I got upset and called and asked for a new one. They had NONE available..new or refurbished.

They offered a CURVE, which I was OK with, but soon started to regret.

Well, my new phone came today, and it was a NEW 8800...AT&T branded...and I can't believe how solid the phone is. No squeaks, no rattles, etc. I am SOOO happy.

Just curious, what problems did you have with the curve?

I use the gps a lot, and the dust-under-the-screen issues that everyone is reporting.

Well, now, let's not exaggerate... Not "everyone", but only those that are having that problem, which is a very small percentage of the 8300 user base.

Guess ya got me there....I suppose those who have it will complain, those who don't will stay quiet...thats why it seems so rampant...

I actually looked at the Curve at the store today and I REALLY like it..wish it had GPS....

May get my wife one.
