This is killing me... Any advice? Call RIM or suck it up and wait?
It affects everything routed thru the BIS. Contact RIM or have your carrier open a case with them. The more examples they have the better the fix will be.

Ok, more information after getting off the phone with RIM. It appears to be related to HTML and when bolding is turned on and off. You can probably find the pattern if you look for bold in your email. When the next bolded word appears you will get the text until the bold ends.

Hard to explain but the info might help someone. Would give a timeline for correction but said they are getting hammered and prob something within the next two days.

In the meantime, grrrr!

Good to see everyone contacting RIM. Its the only way to get things like this escalated.

This is EXACTLY what I'm seeing. Cingular - BIS tied to an Exchange OWA account.

I have an email problem but mine is a little different. If this has been covered my apologies. I came across this threat first.

If I send an email (I'm on BIS) it goes through but I get a reply from the person that says all they received was a bunch of letter and symbols.

Any one know what this is all about?

Default Same Problem

I am having the exact same problem as everyone else. I just wanted to add some other observations though...

First, mine is happening with gmail and google apps emails (the whole "deleted replies" thing)

Second, form emails (like order confirmations) are having all of the form information deleted. For example, someone will order an item from my ecommerce site, and the BB email will come through with "ShippingAddress BillingAddress"....but none of the actual address information (or field headers) is displayed.

Hope this gets fixed asap.

Well, add me to the list of people affected. My Gmail and Yahoo mails are now all stripped. Annoying. Hope this gets fixed soon.

Thumbs down missing parts!

What's even weirder is that it doesn't happen all the time and sometimes, part of the information is there and other times, the whole e-mail is blank.

If I try opening it using either Smart View or Empower, the issue still remains.
SAME EXACT THING HAPPENING TO ME & 4 CO-WORKERS HERE! MUST BE A NEW ISSUE. HOPE THEY ARE WORKING ON IT

Wirelessly posted (Blackberry® 8800: BlackBerry8800/4.2.1 Profile/MIDP-2.0 Configuration/CLDC-1.1 VendorID/125)

Glad its not just me, been pulling my hair out on why this is happening.

Can confirm 'middle of emails missing' on O2-UK bis and bes latest version.

Not experianced the blank reply issue though.

Going to contact service provider bb support and rim tomorrow.

Thumbs up

This morning I thought I would rule out a couple of items 1st. I removed any applications that integrated with mail viewing (empower and audiopop etc) rebooted after each uninstall then forwarded myself an email which would normally result in the middle section dissapearing (ebay fav search email) and low and behold it was complete. I them installed empower and rebooted and tested again and it was still ok, I haven't tested with audiopop back on yet as I am away from my pc with bbdesktop on to reinstall it for a few days.

So any one having these issues please try something similar to the above and let us know if it has any effect or if you think i'm talking rubbish.....

Default Missing Body

We are experiencing the same problem. The email is produced in a ColdFusion application on an AIX server. It is routed to the email server, and then sent to people who use Outlook, who do see the body. The email is then forwarded to me (Outlook) where the body is missing. When I click on "view", "show", "page source", it does show the plain text body.

Yeah, this is real frustrating. Has RIMM gotten back to anybody on this yet?

Just got off the phone with RIM. This is SO frustrating!!! There are stating that a hot fix will be installed sometime this week. The Rep stated it could even go in tonight but I feel like they were just trying to tell me what I wanted to here. We will see. In the meantime, I will continue with my responses of Huh? Could you try resending? I'll have to respond when I get back to the office. You would think that the customers impacted by this would be entitled to something! Grrrr!

this goes beyond frustration. My biggest client is self employed and does all his email from his Yahoo account. I hate even having to ask him to re-send his customer files over and over again.

arrrgghh.....

Default Update

RIM has closed my case stating this issue has been resolved. I personally have not noticed any email problems for a few days.
