Default BES without Exchange or Domino

Hello,

Is it possible to use BES with an IMAP compliant mail server?

Current we are using Insight Server from Bynari.

Thank you.

There is a BES called "BlackBerry Enterprise Server for MDS Applications" which uses an IMAP mailbox for wireless activation of the device however it doesn't do any mail redirection other than that.

You can access IMAP mailboxes with BlackBerry Internet Service though.

Will my main problem is to have mail from the corporate server and bb synced.
That is I can forward all mail to BB , but when composing mail from the bb can it appear in my corporate sent items folder?

Thank you.

I don't think you can sync email no matter what you use, although I am definitely not an expert on that. My knowledge is from what I have read here over the past year or so. You can reconcile using BES and Exchange.

Not with IMAP, BES w/ Exchange, Domino, etc. but not IMAP can do that. Alternatively you can setup your BIS to save a copy that you'd then have to archive yourself. Or you could CC yourself (somewhat painful on both accounts). -Pk
