Chris32111,
At this time the icons are not super-graphical. Time is being spent on functionality - later down the road the pretties will progress.

Regarding signing on in 2 locations... Ramble does not support that, however we have it in as a feature request. If you sign on with Ramble, it **should** kick off the PC. Likewise, signing on with the PC **should** kick off Ramble. Let us know if you are experiencing different behavior.

Wirelessly posted (Blackberry 7520: BlackBerry7520/4.0.0 Profile/MIDP-2.0 Configuration/CLDC-1.1 UP.Browser/5.0.3.3 UP.Link/5.1.2.12)

Works well on my Nextel 7520, although I'm getting a few disconnects here and there

Dan: I use Trilllian and it ended my session for me and when I signed on, Ramble logged off, so it appears consistent. Also, I did notice one of your observations in your earlier post. I had two rather lengthy chats last night and it does slow down as the history gets longer. Must be some buffer issue. I also changes the timestamp to on with quite a few lines in the history and it took about a minute. I did not notice away changes, but I logged out afterwards. All in all this is still one of the best freebies for BB users, IMO.

Yes I configured everything correctly in those settings and I still get a cannot open tunnel with 7290 on cingular. Does it matter using the all caps on the password and everything?

Go to Options->TCP
APN: wap.cingular
Username: [email address]
Password: CINGULAR1

The port is listed in the Options -> SRA Ramble screen. The TOC Host & Port is toc.oscar.aol.com:1290, simply change it to toc.oscar.aol.com:80, or whatever other port you want.

Passwords must have proper capitalization, logins should not possess any spaces, etc. I suppose logins could be normalized so that you can enter them the same way they are shown, maybe in an upcoming release.

Are you on a BES? If you're not on a BES, make sure you have your Network Connection is set to 'Use Device TCP'

If you're on a BES, make sure your Network Connection is set to 'Use MDS TCP'

7100g users, I had one user report that they were able to login via Ramble after contacting Cingular. The user reported that 7100g is configured with 'WAP' settings, and in order to work it needed to be changed to 'ISP' settings.

I've asked for clarification, but it sounds like perhaps a setting change on the Cingular side? Does this make sense to anyone else?

On the forums you link to, state you can either us the TCP/APN configurations WAP or ISP. But with Cingular, Ramble seems to only work on the 7100G using the ISP configs.

Most important the Cingular/blakcberry user needs to call and make sure their profile is set to the ISP and not the WAP. if it is not then ask they to change it. You will not be charge if you have the blackberry unlimited package. (if they say you will be charged, they are not correct and please advise them to investigate further.

Your desktop and Ramble cannot both be logged in at once. It is an incompatibility in the protocols (or AOL just doens't like it).

You can 'Get Buddy Info', but there is a known issue that causes this to be unreliable, so you might have to try many times before it works (but it should eventually work).

Away messages cannot be checked right now. The protocol that AOL uses does not provide that information. For Ramble users, I stick the away message in the Buddy Info so you can see the away statement from another Ramble user, just not from a Desktop user.

While they will not charge you for the ISP plan, they will charge you for the data at the rate of 3 cents per KB. WAP data is 1 cent per KB.

ISP data is going to get way too expensive if you use this program more than on a rare occasion.
