The only thing I don't like about this OS version is that Opera Mini won't work with it. Other than that I like this OS version. My BlackBerry is faster, the Bluetooth performance seems to be better, the status light holds a solid green when the BlackBerry is fully charged and the locking onto satellites for the GPS takes less time.

Hey so does anyone know where to read release notes like the .90 updates? I always notice we just seem to give each other info on updates. there has to be a place where release notes are kept?

Can anyone help?

Here is something I noticed: When I updated the software the former cingular theme had three rows of icons. Now the at&t theme only has two rows of icons. What gives? Has anyone else noticed this and does anyone know how to fix this?

Lightbulb Fixes....

This release fix the following at least for me :

* Uncaught Exception:
Java.lang.ArrayIndexOutofBoundsException

* It lets you to choose whether or not enable the automatic backlight option.

Confimed that Opera Mini does not work with this release.

Cheers
Felix Briceno

Ps: my phone is from CINGULAR unlocked

i noticed the at&t theme only shows 2 rows. funny thing is when in the theme section in options, the preview still shows it with 3 rows.

Newbie question here--sorry if I'm posting this in the wrong thread.

I have a Cingular branded 8800 and want to upgrade to the latest Rogers OS. Aside from having to resend the service books, are there any other settings I will need to change so I can surf the web?

Thanks in advance.

I did it on my 8800 and no i did not have to change any settings. if you follow the instructions it will work great. Its worth it, just follow jibi's instructions.

Thanks for the tip! Worked like a charm on a MacBook Pro running Bootcamp and XP.

Love the new system and themes. This was my first Blackberry upgrade so truly, thanks.

One thing about this forum that I notice more often now and find ridiculous is the many replies to many comments more like a personal chat session while ignoring the many good questions from vets and newbies alike. Most of those questions are treated more like nuisances than anything else. It didn't used to be that way on here and is one of the main reasons I don't post much. This site used to be the best source of sound, solid and fast advice to all BB users, but now it appears to be more of a social hangout for the elite clique of BB users. Every once in a while a lackadaisical answer will be given to a request for info or help. This is whack and needs to be addressed by those with all the knowledge who frequent the BBF. The definition of 'forum' says it all. Remember...'where much is given, much is required.'

I've seen this question posted a few times but haven't seen any responses except for the new 'feature' of .90 answer. Let me ask this again a little more clearly and maybe us scrubs can get a response from somebody of the BB illumined unlike ourselves. Oh and before you suggest it, yes I did search first.

Is there a way we can get the new AT&T theme to show 3 rows of icons on .90 like the Cingular theme from older versions? The theme screenshot shows 3 rows and it would be better and more attractive for me, and I'm sure a few more upgraders in the forum, to see three rows instead of just two. A simple No or Yes with instructions would be most appreciated instead of no answer at all.

The only way to do what you are asking is to extract the specific theme .cod file from an earlier version of the OS and replace the new .90 .cod with the .cod extracted from the old OS version. I haven't tried it myself, sorry. Maybe someone else has. Unfortunatly, there is no way to change this without dissecting the OS. Keep in mind also, that many times the themes from old OS's don't work on the new OS's.

I appreciate the reply. I guess I will just roll with the 2 liner then. Thanks again.

After testing this OS out, I found out that when using GPS and it sends the voice to teh BT headset it seems that part of the instructions get lost. Tried it with several BT headsets and all were with the same results. In a way, if the instructions is less than 3 words then one might not here them but if it is over 3 one would hear anything after the 2nd word. With that I advise any one using GPS with voice over BT to use it on the handset only.

I have never seen my 8800 hourglass with any OS. The Pearl did it all the time. .90 seems faster to me overall.
