Default Small Issue

New to posting but am an avid reader of the forums. I have the 8700c I purchased through Cingular about a year ago. I've misplaced the CD that came with the phone that had the Desktop Manager on it. My hard drive crashed and thus I lost the program on my computer. I attempted to download the program via the official Blackberry site. Unfortunately, the two different versions of the program I downloaded don't seem to work. I keep receiving an error message from Windows when I attempt to open them saying they are not a valid Win32 application. The desktop icon I'm receiving after downloading is a winzip vise on a white background. I was able to download the actual phone software (not the newest 4.2 version) and got an Install Shield icon for that. I did that download merely to see if it was only happening when I downloaded the Desktop Manager, which was the case. Any help would be greatly appreciated. I don't know if I need a second program to install the downloaded file or I'm simply not doing it right. Thanks in advance.

try downloading the 4.2 sp1 version on the blackberry website. I had the same problem when running in windows vista. Downloaded the sp1 version and it installed although it had the same error after the installation. Installation was already done anyways and the error popped up when removing extracted file.s
