Exclamation 8703e slowdown when no network

Please Login to Remove!

I am on Sprint, my handset slows down to a crawl when I go to a zone with no wireless signal, but leave the wireless on. The handset is slow until I turn the wireless off, is this a problem everyone has?? Seems really weird that the handset should slowdown so much!

I have the 8703e with Bell Mobility... Same thing here.. The unit slows down when there is no Network... Walking into an elevator while composing an email is painful... I usually wait till I'm back out and signal has come back.

If your radio is on and still looking for a signal then that will consume more battery life and most likely processor speed as well.

True, but that's the same for any cell phone, however I have never noticed such a drastic slow down on any other phone, even normal handsets for that matter.
