then when i charged it back up my memory card didnt show up on my bb.i just got home to figure this out.i did a search on this no go.any help on this would be great.i dont think i had any of my info backed up.would love to get the card to read and all my stuff back on my phone.help help help please...
I know this sounds kinda silly, but its the first step we take in troubleshooting... have you tried removing your battery for 10 secs and then rebooting the device?? after sending yourself service books, if your stuff doesnt come back ... sorry ... there may not be anything that can be done to retrieve it. you NEED to back up your stuff. Its really easy n' quick to do.
The memory card holder in the pearl is flimsy at best. Make sure it is fully seated and the clamp if fully in the locked position before you proceed with anything else. Worst case is to take out your microsd card and put it in the sd card holder in came in and see if your computer can read it. I doubt all the data is gone.
the adapter is for card readers to make your microSD be the size of a regular SD card so it can be read in card readers that read regular sized SD cards but not microSD cards

"Worst case is to take out your microsd card and put it in the sd card holder in came in and see if your computer can read it" is there a spot on my ltop that i can put the adapter i dont see one. yeah i put it in right.this is starting to get to me now...
ok, stay calm. There are readers that plug into your usb port that accept the adapter you have. If you dont have one built into your computer you will have to borrow or buy one (they are cheap). Before you do that, check that the connectors on the micro card line up with the connectors in the phone and that you can flap it down and lock the metal clasp over it. Whatever you do, dont get frustrated and bust a small part inside your phone, thats hard to fix. So far I think what you have is fixable.....
thanks for all the help and telling me to be calm...yes i can get pissed at this stuff and start breaking stuff...lol...i put my old card in 512mb and it showed up then put my 1gb back in and not showing up.
i agree w/ the idea of getting a card reader that either reads SD or microSD and plug it into the computer.....that way you can at least deduce if the card is readable.
and definately make sure your phone's OS is most recent (.71 i think...)

Here is how my screen looks (w/ a 1GB microSD supported)
Media Card Support: On
Encryption Mode: None
Mass Storage Mode Support: On
Auto Enable Mass Storage Mode when Connected: Off (but if its on it shouldn't make a difference on the phone recognizing the card).
And then of course below will either say the free and total space on that card if its getting read. or it will say something like no media card present (or something similar).

i checked that area and put it like the way u have it...but at the bottom of that it says cant read the card and needs to be formatted.is that what it's post to say or what
i went and posted a thread asking how to format the microSD....will post back once someone has answered.....but in the meantime i seriously suggest getting a card reader....cause if its readable by that but not your phone....want to get any info off the card before it might have to be reformatted to be readable by your Pearl again (just a theory but couldn't hurt).

well the only thing i found was going to where we have the media card section of options....was to choose format card....not sure where it goes from there...but i found mention of formating it in FAT16 (not sure what it means but felt I should mention it).
