Please Login to Remove!

Tried downloading OTA onto my unlocked 8700c with T-Mobile and it would always lock up at about 25% and not go any further. I was able to get it via the App Loader on Desktop Manager.

Program works great, and my only request is the same as many others... audible alerts. Overall, excellent job, keep it up!

im on an 8700c using BIS and i keep getting an error, "could not open tunnel-failed". What should my tcp settings be in order for this program to work.
I have it set as
APN: wap.cingular
Username: [email address]
Pass: CINGULAR1
it does not allow me to log in to both my gtalk, and aim, because of this. any info would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance!

How do I stop it from sending myself an IM message with the word "PING" over and over again? Even when I'm logged in on AIM on my computer, I keep getting a message from my own screen name with the word PING. It's sending it every 3 seconds. Pretty annoying.

(9:27:06 PM): PING
(9:27:06 PM): PING
(9:27:06 PM): PING
(9:27:07 PM): PING
(9:27:07 PM): PING
(9:27:07 PM): PING
(9:27:08 PM): PING
(9:27:08 PM): PING
(9:27:08 PM): PING
(9:27:09 PM): PING
(9:27:12 PM): PING
(9:27:15 PM): PING
(9:27:18 PM): PING
(9:27:21 PM): PING
(9:27:24 PM): PING

and so on....

this is a high severity bug we're aware of and looking to fix...

see the posting above

http://www.blackberryforums.com/afte...tml#post429714

please try to log out of jivetalk altogether, if that still doesn't stop, shoot an email to [email address] and we can go into the server to shut it down.

I only got the ping every few seconds when I was logged into AIM on my PC and the BB at the same time. Once I signed off on my PC, the ping messages stopped for me.

FIRST---JiveTalk is a great IM client--the best I have found among all others so far. Does not drain my battery, and stays ON without disconnecting.

I was getting the PING issue as stated above when I had both my desktop GAIM client running along with JiveTalk on the BB. Of course, I don't need both running at the same time, so it works out. Still however a bug in the program to look at.

Default username logins

Hello,

Just some info I found out.

Hotmail - requires the @hotmail.com and the coding/programming reminds you.
Yahoo - doesn't require the @yahoo.com.
Gmail - adds it automatically, even if you edit/delete it out.
AOL - doesn't require the @aol.com.

version 0.5.17
------------
No notification when you have been logged out. Scenario - Jive logged in, sign in MSN on a computer. No notification on Jive.

thanks for posting the info.

for logins, we try to use whatever the default login handle the native desktop IM client uses.

sorry for the lack of documentation on the features thus far, it's beta...

we will be writing help and documentation before the application goes GA.

No worries, I know it's beta. Thought it would be good to post the issues here, unless you have an online issue/bug listing.

Great program!
Thanks!

Default Earlier server hiccup

We had a server hiccup for about 10 minutes earlier today, @ about 2PM Est. Some of you may have experienced a disconnect. If so, you can try reconnecting.

Default When you're on BES and can't connect

It's often because your BES MDS proxy is blocking traffic.

You can try to go to preferences, and set "advanced connection parameters" to

deviceside=true

this will bypass the MDS proxy on BES and try to connect via your provider's direct tcp gateway instead.

Is there a way to use this app withouth apn? My carrier charges all apn traffic, but the BIS traffic is unlimited.

Best Regards,
Jaime

Default New Server Build

We have a new development server build that will be deployed shortly. The build includes read-only support for AOL and ICQ nicknames (you can view it but cannot edit it yet).

This build also fixes the annoying "PING" problems people have been having.

We'll be deploying the build shortly for a trial run. This should be transparent to you. We'll roll back to the previous build if we experience any problems.

AIM should be back to the way it was now, we've rolled back the change.

One other issue/suggestion ... if you're in conversation with an AIM buddy who signs off, the client will still allow you to send messages to that buddy even tho' they go nowhere. It seems like the client should tell you that the client is no longer online when you try to send the message (yes, I know the green status turns gray).

Also, I would like to see a way to email a chat log to yourself. I find this feature useful in Webmessenger since it allows you to save important stuff or easily move a web link to your desktop for later viewing.

Keep up the great work.
