Default 8100 on Sprint? 6months? 9months? 12mo's?

Please Login to Remove!

Ok, I have done a search and was just looking to see when/if we can expect the pearl from sprint. From what I have read some people say 6mo's after GSM release, others say 9, then some people say 1 year or never. Anyone have updated info on potential release dates or should I go ahead and go with the 7130e or 8703e? Thanks for all the help

From Sprint? Probably in the year 2019..... Sprint and verizon are years behind the BB craze....

Do you want full size qwerty keyboard or smaller form factor? 8700 for fullsize qwerty and go with the 7130 if you want form factor and can deal with suretype...

2019? That's uncalled for. I'd say sometime in the 2008-2010 timeframe is much more reasonable.

hmmm, I don't have any experience with suretype so that is a hard call. I like the form factor much much more though. As long as suretype isn't a complete pain in the arse, I'd probably go with 7130e. At least until 2019 :\

It all depends on what you want out of the device.... If you are not use to using the full qwerty then you will probably adjust rather fast to suretype.... As for me, it's pretty much qwerty or nothing...

AND as Nj stated it *might* be earlier than my 2019 estimate

looks like I might ditch sprint for T-mobile, crossing my fingers since it looks like T-mobile has the best prices and get the blackberry's first

Hopefully never. No need to ruin a great BB with crappy service.

Hah, totally depends on what area you are in. Just like any carrier, the best coverage for you might not be the best coverage for others.

Not to mention that EVDO completely dominates EDGE. Say what you will about Sprint's coverage, it's not been a problem for me for years, and the data rates are pretty good for a phone.

I tried to leave Sprint for T-Mo because the Pearl is such an awesome device, but T-Mo's service just wasn't as good for me. I'm now waiting for the Pearl to come out on Cingular, but if I knew that it was due to hit Sprint in the not-too-distant future, I might wait it out.

Here's what you do:

Go to the sprint store and ask them why all their phones look like two years behind cingular or T-mobile's phones. When the sales person starts trying to explain to you that its about the network that counts, kick them in the balls and walk away. Repeat this every day. Encourage others to do the same.

Eventually Sprint will get the picture and start offering better phones that aren't from two years ago.

True, but even with great coverage, based on their customer service, I would never sign up with them again.

I am in Minnesota and Tmobile's coverage is great, so is sprints, but I'm sure there are always certain times when a call gets dropped. What appeals me to Tmobile is their prices are cheaper, they get better phones, faster. That is enough for me to make a change. 1000minutes w/ unlimited data for $59.99 hell its 40 bucks for sprints BB service alone. EEEEEEK

I had great coverage with both companies (Nextel was the only crap company) but I switched from sprint to t mobile solely for the better phones and better discounts after 1 year.
