Sorry for the possibly off topic post, but since this is pretty specific to BlackBerry video encoding, I'll ask anyway.
What video codecs (if any) do I need to install under Windows to test the avi/mpeg4 vidoes created for my 8100, using the mencoder command line in the sticky below, without having to download to the device first?
http://www.blackberryforums.com/gene...ng-8100-a.html
,or,
mencoder -vf scale=240:180 <input file> -o <output file> -of avi -ovc lavc -oac lavc -lavcopts vcodec=mpeg4:vbitrate=230:acodec=mp3:abitrate=64
While I'm at it: are there any rules to the bit rates shown above, to remain compatible with the 8100? I'd like to create really small files downloadable from a web server onto my BlackBerry (basically so I can watch live TV by clipping video from files created by my media server).
Thanks for any help.
