Angry Pocketmac4 Sucks!

Please Login to Remove!

Thanks for reading, I have not gotten anywhere, and all support just reffers me to Nextel, who don't know what a "mac" is...

I have installed PM4 (osx 10.4.8 on a 1.67Ghz Powerbook.). It will not sync, it will not find a device at all.

Infact, if my BB (7100i) is connected, it will hang SO HARD THAT FORCE-QUIT DOES NOT EVEN WORK.

If my BB is not connected, it will start but never find any devices. It will hang to a force-quit if I try to sync anyway.

I have reset the PRAM/NVRAM and PMU, still no luck. Connection is direct via USB cable, I have tried both USB ports for giggles.

ls -l /dev | grep cu does show a cu.Blackberry.

I get the following in system.log upon connecting my BB:
Nov 6 22:00:28 Laptop-1-67ghz kernel[0]: BlackberryUSBDev: Vendor ID = fca, Product ID = 1, Device Release = 104
Nov 6 22:00:30 Laptop-1-67ghz kernel[0]: BlackberryUSB: - Version number 2.0.1
Nov 6 22:00:31 Laptop-1-67ghz kernel[0]: BlackberryUSBDev: Vendor ID = fca, Product ID = 1, Device Release = 104
Nov 6 22:00:33 Laptop-1-67ghz kernel[0]: BlackberryUSB: - Version number 2.0.1

there was another topic about PM4 stopping services.
http://www.blackberryforums.com/mac-...ting-down.html

I THINK there was a resolution of some sort in there somewhere.

Thanks for the tip, unfortunately pcscd does not appear to be the problem (not surprising since I have a 7100i not an 8100series.) Permissions have been repaired, etc.

This is an odd one allright.

Did you ever resolve this issue? Same thing is happening to me with a 7100 on a MacBook.
