I also notice that booting time is way faster when you hard reset your device.

I upgraded to the Telstra OS to get the Today themes, but now dialing "1" no longer dials my voicemail. T-Mobile uses some odd (805) area code number for voicemail, and I cannot figure it out. I know this is lame, but it annoys me to no end to have to click the trackwheel, and then scroll to "call voicemail". Does the T-Mobile OS fix this problem?

work around: tmo voicemail 8056377243, use/assign that number for speed dial w/1.

I already took the plunge and upgraded to the new T-Mobile OS. Thanks though. I had a few minutes and thought what the heck. This way, if I have problems at least I am running T-Mobile's OS. I could see that being something to complain about. I appreciate the quick response noeffectx. I could not find that voicemail number.

Default Upgrading the OS

When you all upgraded the handheld OS, did you lose any data and have to do a restore function or run into other issues besides a couple of problems already noted?

I'm most likely overly concerned upgrading the OS ...

The first part of the upgrade is to backup all of your data. The last step is to restore it. It is an automated process.

If you have an application that does not store data properly (like BBWeather) than you will lose that data.

I am trying to download the handheld version 4.1.0.346 for my 8700g but failed because it says the page cannot be found. Guess its down at the moment? Can anyone give me the file so I can get started upgrading my precious toy?

Wow this sounds like a really unfriendly OS version. I wonder why they'd put it out with no "fixes"...seems like only downgrades. I've got the 8707v OS running, and it's pretty good.

Default Upgraded

Well, I did the upgrade ... all my over the air applications needed to be re-initialized with user names and passwords. Everything seems to be working OK except the T-Mobile MSN Messenger.

I get to 20% on signing in and it then fails with a communication error. I can surf the internet without problem. I then get a series of emails with a bunch of data ... I called T-Mobile, they say they think it's a MSN problem with Blackberry's. It worked minutes before the upgrade?

Can any one confirm?

I did the upgrade with zero problems. As far as the OTA problem you were having, if I remember correctly, you had to check a box to backup any OTA install programs you had installed. I have several OTA download, both from Magmic games as well as PocketDay, and everything is fully functional.

I performed the upgrade and the install was very smooth.

I am using ZEN theme. I noticed some icons missing that bothers me.

1) There used to be a new mail notification with 4.1.0.284 that appeared at the very top of the screen.

2) Also missing is the icon alerting you to a new Instant Message.

I wrote to TMO's customer service and they say they are unaware of any issues with 4.1.0.346

I noticed a previous post also mentioned a missing new mail icon.

Anyone else note any issues?
