Well, I got this case and wore it to work.
As I assumed, this is a great case if you want a slimmer profile when wearing it. Because it is worn horizontally, it hugs closer to the waistline, so it does not stick out at all when wearing a suit. In other words, when you are wearing the phone underneath a coat, you cannot tell at all that one has a phone on the belt.
A second feature I like is the quality. In a professional situation, where one is wearing a $1200 suit and carrying a $600 briefcase, nothing drags down the look faster than a utility type phone case. This case is made of high quality leather and the stitching has a tailor-made look to it. The two-tone styling finishes off the professional appearance.
Because this case is made for the Pearl, it fits perfect. The leather is soft and feels like an expensive and quality item.
As to utility, the clip is strong, the case stays put on the belt. I tested the clip on my girlfriend's purse strap and it held firmly. We also clipped the phone into an inner compartment of the purse and it stayed in place. My GF liked that because this will prevent her phone from getting lost inside her black hole of a purse.
The cover/flap has two strong magnetic disks that mate firmly with the front of the case. This keeps the phone secure.
The phone's compartment is sized big enough so a Pearl that has a hard plastic or rubberized case on it will fit into this case. [The pics show my Pearl with the Seidio rubberized case on it].
The phone's sleep mode works well. See the video demo I made of that feature working.
Bottom line, if you have to wear a phone case on the belt or clipped inside a purse, this one looks correct and professional. People that touch or see it will assume you spent a lot of money for a phone case.
If you need a phone case that is up there with those Coach cases that cost $75, this is the case for you.
