Default Can I delete Blacberry Attachment Service 3.7 115k on 7230?

Please Login to Remove!

Can I delete Blacberry Attachment Service 3.7 115k on 7230? I am trying to free up some memorary. I cannot view attachments on my 7230 (Tmobile, BES), so what will happen if I delete this app in application loader? I assume this software enables me to view doc or pdf files, which does not seem to work on my 7230, so what impact will deleting these files have? Thanks Tracy

If you can't view attachments, your BES must not be configured to run the attachment service. In that case, you can delete the app. In any event, you're not doing any harm. You can always reload it.

It will not hurt to delete it. I ran mine just fine without it before we switched to BES.

I think it would be better to remove the attachment service by starting the Application Loader and removing it that way, rather than deleting modules on the handheld.

Default How to get the Attachment Service to work on a 7230 without BES

Thank you to all for the posts in this forum. It has been so imformative.

I would like to know if it is possible to get the Attachment Viewer to work on a T-Mobile 7230 without running BES? Also, the 7100T as I support the other gentlemen in my office.

Many Thanks,

Craig

I think you need to upgrade the OS to 4.0 . I did that and now I can view image attachments. Have not tried document attachments yet.

Call your carrier and find out if they offer attachment viewing with BlackBerry Web Client accounts. Most of them do.

The image attachment viewing options in 3.6 were limited to .doc, .pdf, .xls, and .txt i believe, but 4.0 offers .jpg, .tif, and .gif (on color handhelds)
