As a new user it seems that the PC blackberry program is almsot a necessary evil. In order to put programs and stuff on the blackberry the pc version does what the mac version does not do.

That being said. I have a mac running parallels. Can I easily use the program for the pc on the mac throguh parallels?

Parallels emulates the USB port as did VPC, so you may not find success their either? The desktop manager does run fine in BootCamp. Another option within the Mac OS itself is the Newly released PocketMac 4.0 see my signature for links.

I find that with Parallels I can at least:
1) back up my device (Pearl)
2) access the photos etc on device memory via media manager (I have no SD card in pearl now so the generic USB device mode is not available)
3) load applications *other than just .alx* (which goes beyond PocketMac)
4) edit my BES "email settings"
5) Charge my BB (pocketmac allows for this too)

I *cannot* upgrade the device code (USB connection is too flaky)

In conclusion Parallels is sure better than a poke in the eye and miles ahead of PocketMac, which I have uninstalled with anger.

I have a beta copy of VMware for Mac and the USB functionality for the BlackBerry is perfect.
