So i could of swore that RIM is against wifi, but i have on my 8700 from dobson. A browser, and a "wireless internet". A couiple days ago my father complained about the wireless acting up while i surfed the net on my phone, i was like huh.

Today i re activated the wifi passphrase on my network now i cannot use the wireless to get anywhere on the net it says my authentication level is not vaild...

Am i useing wifi on my 8700???

No. I don't know the geeky details, sorry, someone else will have to fill you in on those. But I can tell you that you are definitely not using wifi on an 8700. The new 8800's will have wifi, supposedly, but the 8700's are sans wifi.

8700 does not have wifi whatsoever. period.

No BlackBerrys (with the exception of the 7270) use Wifi. They all use the carriers networks and not WiFi.
