Default Wireless sync not working for one user.

Please Login to Remove!

Hi..I have one user who blackberry will not sync wirelessly e.g Items are not getting marked as read or deleted. This happens both ways be it read on the BB or read in outlook. He is set up the same way as everyone other user for wireless sync (bidirectional). We are using BES 4.0 & its a 8700 BB. If you do a reconcile now it does sync correctly.

So far have tried removing user from BES & killing the BB readding/activating them. Have also tried swapped the device out. Also am unable to wireless acvitate it, the email from [email address] is never received, which I imagine is someway releated. It also has the same firmware as all our other BB v 4.1.258

  1. Remove the account from the BES.
  2. Restart the BB Policy Service
  3. Restart the BB Sync Service
  4. Add the account back to the BES
  5. Generate password and email for Enterprise Activation

Hopefully that will get you back on track.

Have managed to now get it to wireless activate by running DBCLEAN however synch still not working. Not very keen on restarting those services as its working fine for all others.

You may have already checked this, but if the user goes into options inside of the email icon and then clicks on the email reconciliation otpion is wireless reconcile set to "On"?

I have had users that have lost the wireless reconcile option all together in the past. The only way I got them back to working was to delete them out of the bes, add them back and setup a replacement locally(wired), then ship it out to them.

Provisioning? If you can't get an ETP message for this guy but you have for others then it is quite likely provisioning.

I'm having the same problem with two devices. All I did was reboot the BES (Windows updates) and now two devices can't synch wirelessly. Done everything... deleted users, wiped, nuked even.

Can you elaborate on what you mean by "provisioning"? Is this something our provider (Telus) needs to do? Any guesses why this would happen just to two users on reboot of the server?

Domino 6.5, BES 4.1.2, Windows

Thanks!

Do you see the RIM message in the users inbox?
Does the server have permissions to the users mail file?

On enterprise activation the RIM message comes and then goes (as it should). Permissions are fine.

The units can send mail, but not receive. Can send pin-to-pin, but not receive. Phone works fine. Messages in BES are in Pending. When I hook up via USB, synch works. Unplug USB and messages stop synching.

The only thing I've noticed is there is no "Provisioning" service book. Have registered on the network several times and successfully receive the message to the device that registration is complete. Called our provider and they are going to "get back to me" with in 48 hours.

We'll see what happens. Cheers!

Default Wireless sync not working ; solved?

I cannot seem to find the solution for this problem in these posts.
I'm having the same problem at one of our customers. They are running
BES 4.0 (sp 5) / Groupwise 7 / BB 7290 handhelds / windows 2003.
Before the problem started they where running Groupwise 6 and after the upgrade this problem apeared.

Mails being read on the device are not being marked as read in the mailclient and VicaVersa.
Wireless sync is enabled. The only way to get "the job done" is by using the option Reconcile Now.
