Synchronize only things that are critical.

the only things syncronizing, that i can tell, are the address book and to-dos. And I don't even have any to-do's to sync.

Is this the same EVERY time you try to sync? It should only take a few seconds on an ongoing basis (first time it will take longer). Be sure to check your connection settings in the Desktop Manager to be sure you are using the USB setting. Post if still have this issue...

I checked the intellisync settings and it is also checked to reconcile email. I'm on my company's BES using Notes. I'm sure that's the delay. Should it stay checked? Email is synced wirelessly, so I don't know why it needs to reconcile? The tech who set me up checked this. Do I need to just live with this?

It should NOT take that long. If you feel like being a bit adventurous, remove the check mark from the email reconcilliation, and see if that has a posotive/negative impact.

Tried that and it still takes 5 minutes for sync to end.

Here's where it takes long: "Reading from mail system: Email Record X of X records"

And reconcile email in intellisync is not checked.

I am not sure what's going on there...sorry...perhaps someone else has some more direct experience here? I'm just sure it should not take more than a few seconds on an ongoing basis...

"Reading from mail system...." in my point of view that could be the issue. It could be that the connection between your BES and your Notes server is somewhat slow or overloaded.

hmm, well, it is a very large company and probably a lot of users...it's just frustrating that it takes forever to sync. Guess I send in a support ticket and see if they can resolve it.

Default Call your tekkies

I just tested my sync time at midday. It took less than two minutes. I am syncing everything from my Lotus Notes except my "To Do's" I am also syncing a fairly large set of journal entries.

Some of the things you should consider are:

1. How big is your address book? The address book sync is not wireless.
- So if you have a ton of contacts you will pay for being popular.

2. How fast are your other applications on your workstation?

If you have an older PC on a slow network connection your sync times will tend to be on the long side. Look on the bright side. You have a few extra minutes of idle time and no one can fault you for "goofing off"!

I've run into a similar problem while synching between BB and ACT! I stopped synching w/ the Notes field through BB configuration and sped things up a lot.

Angry same here

my 7100t takes forever (almost an hour) to sync with my lotus notes, my address book have about 800 contacts. But I do keep the device and the lotus notes up to date. Why does it take so long? I thought it should only look for any additions or changes?
