Default Pearl Speaker Broke

Please Login to Remove!

I got the pearl and 3 days later the speaker broke. Has this happen to anyone else? I think of myself as pretty informed when it comes to technology. i took it back to the store i bought it at and they couldn't figure it out either. The store won't give me a new one, they say i have to wait 30 days and call tmobile to send me a new one. Is there something dumb i over looked? I've tried every profile, made sure the adv settings weren't set on vibrate. Media, speaker, ringtones nothing plays but the phone works fine other than the speaker, i can talk, use headset and it vibrates. If anyone ran into this problem and figured it out please let me know. Thanks in advance.

You bought a new Pearl from T-Mobile and 3 days later the speaker breaks and the store won't exchange it??? If it truly is a hardware malfunction and not a software issue, I'd be raising some hell with T-Mobile. You shouldn't have to wait another 27 days with a broken phone.

The same happened to me; speaker would not work, regardless of settings or profiles. I ended up removing then reinserting the battery and that seems to have fixed the problem. It only occurred once thus far.

Same thing happened to me. One day the speaker just up and stopped working. Removed and reinserted the battery...wiped handheld and reloaded handheld software (made a backup first hehe) With none of my data on, still no speaker. Found my box and recipt...took it back to the tmo store i got it from. Exchanged it for another one.

I hope this isnt a known issue with the bb...well i kind of do that way it can be resolved by rim and then handled by tmo.

Quick question though: Was yours ever dropped? I know i dropped mine once on some carpet and the fall wasnt very far.

The same thing happend to me. I rebooted the unit and that did not fix it. When i removed the battery the speaker worked again and I have not had any problems. Seems to be a software glitch. Just happend without warning, and I have not used any media features. It just stopped ringing.
