Okay, that appears to be the issue. I'm surprised we had not heard anything about it. Anyhow, with OS3.x (sans 3.8), it appears that BrickBreaker was included in the OS - not an optional component. Starting with OS3.8 and OS4.0, it is now a separate application. In the ALX file for it, it only has the models listed above as being available/compatible.

My only suggestion is to email RIM and/or Bell Mobility and ask them if they plan to make BrickBreaker available for the 6750 model. If not, you may want to downgrade back to OS3.6.

I would say that I could extract the files from OS3.6 for you to attempt to load to 4.0, but its just not available separate from the OS for OS3.6.

6750 not 6710.

*edit: the 6750 only has 10MB of memory, which could point to the reason why it does not have BrickBreaker available as an option.

Good call.

I downloaded 4.0
I still regret getting the BB 7100t and switching to T-Mobile.
I have not noticed any improvements.
I still cannot view jpg attachments. The native web browser still is slow and folds over / distorts html pages, making it unusable.
I now have an additional icon on my Home Screen that says Enterprise Activation. How is 4.0 an improvement? What does it actually change?

If you do not have a BES, specifically BES 4.0, the new handheld OS will not do much for you, outside of getting you the latest and greatest version. You can not view JPGs unless you have BES 4.0.

Called Verizon again today. They now have NO IDEA when 4.0 will be available from them.

I thinkyou'll need a data package. If you have a GPRS signal in the top left corner then you may just have to wait for t-mobile to get your activation set. It could take up to 72 hours. If you have a GSM signal in the corner then you need to pay for a data plan.

The $19.99 package from t-mobile does not include BES support. It will only allow BWC and Pop3. You'll need the $29.99 for corporate e-mail support.

Default T-Mobile 6230 Running Cingular 6280 4.0

My T-Mobile 6230 is running the Cingular 6280 4.0OS pretty good. The Phone app is slower than it used to be, but the other areas are working well. I especially like how quick it capitalizes letters now. The only wierd thing is that my message indicator on the main screen does not have a bottom line to the open book. Just the top, two dashes and then nothing. In the Message program it is fine though. Wierd. T-Mobile Zones came right up and functioned fine. Thanks for the previous info in this thread.

Thank goodness Rogers will soon finally be on board. I should never have expected them to adopt as quickly as it seemed they did..

however, i will give credit for quick adoption of the new BWC 4.0 for public MDS.

Let's hope it remains unchanged, and hopefully we can achieve wireless modem (via usb!) functionality.

Default GPRS Needed

A lowercase gprs signal acts as a GSM service. You'll get Wireless, Emergency Calls, SMS messages, and Phone service. No E-mail, PIN or browser transmissions will work in gprs only in GPRS.

Remember though, it may take up to 72 hours for the GPRS service to be activated through T-mobile. If it hasn't been that long, there still may be hope you have a data plan.

Upgrading to OS4 will not help. You'll have to get a data plan from your provider so that the Blackberry Service book knows it can send and receive using the browser and E-mail.

Sorry if that's not good news. T-mobile has a 14 day return or there are plenty of people looking for your Blackberyy model to buy(including myself).

Default Liking the new 4.0 on my 6230

I used Cingular's 6280 4.0OS on my t-mobile 6230 and have been putting it to the test.

Once I used each of the programs, the second time I went to use them they were lightning fast. 4.0 has turned my 6230 into a burner.

Typing is much faster. I even had the Key rate on fast before, but now it really is fast.

The phone is operating normal and functioning well. All programs are very quick. I like that the t-zones and wap transmissions give me the webpage title in the top right corner.

The way the text is beeing laid out is also better. Not as "bulky" as it used to be.

The address book is more verbose and I like the way information is displayed now. It shows what the speed dial assigned letter is!

Other than the little book at the top of my screen not showing in full, and the M= at the bottom of the calculator not doing anything, I am liking the new OS.

If anyone needs assistance with a 4.0 upgrade on their t-mobile 62xx I'd be glad to help.

call TMO and have them reprovision your data plan. although it CAN take up to 72 hours, it rarely, if ever, takes more than 20 minutes if you get on the phone with them and push a bit.

you need a data/internet plan to allow GPRS connectivity. you need BB data plan to allow for BB services to work.

Mark's sticky at the top of this thread, in describing the advantages of 4.0, says:

"Better HTML web browser (on some carriers)."

Does anyone know which carriers provide a better browsing experience with 4.0, and whether this includes speed? I guess you would need to be on BES to take advantage of any carrier browser improvements. Is this correct? Would it matter whether you're using a 72xx, 77xx, 7100, or other unit, in order to enjoy a better browser if you're lucky enough to subscribe to one of these carriers?
