I am an ardent Sony Clie user. I have been given a Blackberry (BB) by my company, and I am struggling to migrate my PDA to BB.

First, how do I launch my Avantgo on BB? Can I do it wirelessly or it is compulsory to use BB Desktop to launch it and syn it with cable? I do not install BB desktop as I was told it would clash with Sony Clie desktop.


Second, any easy DIY software to migrate my Palm PDA Memo & Address to BB?

I need help to perform above 2 urgent requests; otherwise I will always carry 2 devices - BB & Sony Clie.

If your goal is to only carry one device (I assume the BB) then why does it matter if the BB desktop software conflicts with the Clie software?

Can your Clie sync with Outlook? If so, sync it with outlook then sync your BB with outlook.

Gd question. I can't abandon my Palm desktop just like that. It's my life for quite many years. And this BB is company's item, not mine to begin with. But if I can fall in love BB in due times, yes, then the question of deinstalling my palm desktop would be easier.

Go suggestion. I will try to Syn my Palm with Outlook. But I have like few thousand memos in my PDA. Wonder if I can syn my Memo with Outlook Memo? I will try.

Avantgo for BB runs wirelessly. Actually, it's pretty much just a bookmark in the BB Browser.

Do you know for certain that Clie Desktop and BB Desktop Manager conflict with each other? Have you tried it on your PC?

Does your company run their BB's through BES? If so, are they using wireless reconciliation? If both are the case then you won't need to worry about running both Clie Desktop and BB Desktop Manager at the same time. With wireless sync there is very little reason to sync the BB with the PC except for installing apps or making a backup. If the two programs won't run at the same time it would not be hard to configure Clie Desktop's Hotsync to not run at startup, or to close it so you can run BB DM and then restart Hotsync when you're done.
