Smile "BlackBerry" on West Wing

Please Login to Remove!

So I'm watching West Wing this week and Josh said that at least he didn't take his BlackBerry to bed with him. They have all been using BlackBerrys for this whole season... Anyway, what he just called his "BlackBerry" rings and he answers it. But, it's not a BlackBerry but a Treo!! Take from that what you will. They're really taunting us!

I noticed that comment, too. But I also know I've never seen him with a BlackBerry (I've seen CJ Craig with one). Josh uses a Palm Treo 650. Surely they're not using "BlackBerry" in a generic way like "Xerox" came to mean copy machine!

Or, just thought of this, maybe he has an advance version of BB Connect on his Treo. It's not available for commercial use yet, but maybe for government use?

More than likely is that neither the prop person, the continuity person, or the script writer know what a BlackBerry is and they grab for the phone that they have been using without giving it any thought at all.

No, I think they know what's going on... Everyone seems to be carrying one, so they know what it is.

GDPmumin - that's what my conspiracy theory is! By the way, I live up in Rock Hill.

Donna Moss was using a 7100 series earlier in the episode. Leo was using a 7100. I've seen Josh with a 7100 and a treo later on but until tonight typically it had been a treo.

Everyone that had a blackberry in the whitehouse had a 72XX.

In real life, don't they all use BBs? I thought it was the only approved device due to the security of the device?

Last night Josh used three different phones by my count: one Treo, one pie plate BB (with an antenna), and one 8700 BB (at least that's what it looked like, with no antenna).

That's almost sacreligous. What might be worse was when Bam Margera from Viva La Bam threw his blackberry in the river cause he was pissed off. He probably bought a new one the very next day. I've seen him with a 72xx and 71xx.

We'll see what kind of goodies he uses in tonight's episode.

The lawyer for the defendant on Law and Order whipped out a 72xx for a half second after getting an email Wed. night.
