The 8700 has a much much better screen than the 7290. In bright sunlight outside it's tougher to read, but that's the only downside. The 8700 also has a speakerphone, programmable convenience keys (one button right to calendar, browser, etc. from any app), and the "regular" phone keys (send and end). Since you're not using it as a phone right now, the speakerphone and send/end keys might not do too much for you.
The 8700 has more RAM, a faster processor, and a better looking user interface. I don't recall if the 7290 can do themes, but there are a number of them available on the 8700.
The only thing the 7200 series definitely beats the 8700 on is the feel and heft of the device. The 7200s don't feel too light or fragile, but the 8700 feels a little more toy-like, even though it's actually not at all.
I'm not sure what exactly mytomobile is all about, but if it's like the old tzones, it probably won't work on a BB.
