Please Login to Remove!

There are several post about this issue. And I believe I have tried all the suggestions without resolving it.

On all 5 of my users, wireless calendar send new calendar items from Outlook to HH. They will not travel from HH to Outlook.

Here is the what we have setup.

Exchange system manager 2003
CDO.dll 6.5.7638.2

Exchange server:

Exchange 2003
CDO.dll 6.5.7638.2

User desktop:
Windows XP sp2
BB desktop manager 4.1.0.8
Outlook 2002 sp3

The blackbeery client has full mailbox access.

Default BES calendar sync one way only

Hi all i have tried almost everything here on the forums and in the blackberry install guides and nothing seems to work
i have bes 4.0.0.97 running on windows server 2003 connecting to exchange 2003 also on windows 2003 server
the cdo.dll versions all match
BES- (SP2 cdo.dll) - V 6.5.7638.2 registered in
"C:\Program Files\Exchsrvr\bin"

Exchange Server 2003 (SP2 cdo.dll) - V 6.5.7638.2
registered in "C:\Program Files\Exchsrvr\bin"

i also have a version of cdo.dll (SP2 cdo.dll) - V 6.5.7638.2 in "c\windows\system32\" on the BES that i am not sure if it needs to also beregistered but i was getting errors on install unless it was in there so i left it there...

I also checked the mapi32.dll and it is as follows
BES -(SP2 mapi32.dll) - V 6.5.7638.1 registered in
"C:\Program Files\Exchsrvr\bin
Exchange Server 2003 (SP2 mapi32.dll) - V 6.5.7638.1
registered in "C:\Program Files\Exchsrvr\bin"

Any advice would be greatly appreciated as i really would love to use the two way calendar sync

everything else seems to work fine
but i am still digging and testing
any advice is greatly appreciated

the cdo.dll in sys32 does not need to be registered. Did you also make sure your permissions were setup correctly -

in ESM you need to give the BESadmin account exchange view only admin at the admin group level - (minimum)

you must give it explicit administer info store under the server object

you need to also make sure you give explicit send/receive as in that same place. (I think you can do it at the store level also)

Make sure the BESadmin account isnt a member of any group that has implicit denys for send/receive as (ie enterprise admins....) if it is a part of domain admins for instance you should give domain admins explicit send as/receive.

verify local administrator, log on locally and log on as a service are configured correctly

I cant remember if there are any others but its all in there in the admin guide

i was wondering if this is a valid quick test to see if the permissions were the problem : if i give the bbes admin account domain admin priviliges would that work? i know its not good to do this for long term but to test , or am i missing something? shouldnt domain admin have the correct permissions to exchange etc etc

Hi,
Check out this thread at blackberryforums.com/showthread.php?t=14947
Changing "Send As" and "Receive As" permissions had solved our problem.
Hope this help.

I have th eservice accoutn with Exchange Administrator permissions. However under advanced on the storage group, send as and receive as is explicitly denied and the boxes are grayed out.

How do I uncheck the deny boxes?

Thanks

With BES 3.6.2, where should the cdo.dll and the mapi32.dll be registered? Which folders?

Thank you.

cdo.dll and mapi32.dll reside in c:program files\exchsvr\bin
mapi32.dll also resides in c:\windows\system32

Just a quick note, one way calendaring issues can generally be resolved by checking permissions.

Make sure the BESAdmin is NOT part of the domain admins group
In ESM set the BESAdmin user with an Exchange View Only roll
In ESM at the information store level, explicitly set send as/recieve as to allow.

We had a similar issue with calendar items only syncing from Outlook to BlackBerry but NOT from BlackBerry to Outlook. At the time we were running a trial version of BES 4.0.

We upgraded to full version of BES 4.1 and everything broke. We had to (1) upgrade our Small Business Server 2003 to SP2 and (2) properly configure a BES Admin account (previously BES was just using the normal admin account)

After all of that the calendar began syncing properly both ways. The problem is that we made 3 changes: (1) upgrade to BES 4.1, (2) upgrade to SBS 2003 SP2 and (3) configure BES Admin account. I can't tell you with any degree of confidence which change fixed the calendar syncing problem.

Change 3 fixed it. See Zro's post.
