Default Sprint BB device on a Nextel Corp Account?

Please Login to Remove!

My work had a nextel partners business acccount.

Any of y'all have any idea when I might be able to get a sprint device under the umbrella of the nextel account? i hate nextel and their devices, but its the contract we're under.

any ideas?

Have you checked with you rep to see if the nextel contract/discount can carry over to the Sprint for Business account?

My company has two business accounts, one with Sprint, and one with Nextel Partners.

We recently wanted to switch one BB user from Nextel Partners to Sprint, our Sprint account rep said that we'd be hit with an early termination fee since the Nextel Parnters sale to Sprint hasn't been completed.

So she advised us to wait until the sale closes, then do it as it would be a inter-company account transfer.

My understanding is that the nextel partners deal has completed. So now I guess its just a matter of time for them to get their books in order.

I'll keep y'all posted on any progress I may make.

I can't stand my nextel device. I'm counting the days until I can switch over.

I'm just one of the folks outfitted with the BB. I have no contact with service provider. I hate to ask our IT guys, as they are always busting their tails and i'd hate to waste their time with something so trivial and applying to only one employee. Thats why i'm buggin yall.

Just got off the phone with both my Nextel Partners account rep and my Sprint rep.

According to the Nextel Partners rep, the contract with partners won't be taken over by Sprint until April 1 at the earliest. How accurate this is, I don't know, but she did say that once I can add Sprint mobile-to-mobile to my Nextel Partners handsets is a good sign that contracts can be moved between Nextel and Sprint.

Sprint rep didn't have too much more to add other than she thought that the middle of April might be when the Nextel Partners accounts might be integrated into Sprint.

Both of them did say that if I attempted a port now from Partners to Sprint, I'd be hit with a ETF on the contract.

Once Nextel Partner's is integerated to "Nextel" billing you can move to an CDMA device with the charge. You will be charged an upgrade for the device.

I'm pretty sure it will work I think they just do it as an upgrade. At least that's what they do when you switch from a Sprint phone to a Nextel Phone.
