Default T-Mobile TCP port blocking (http://www.marky.com/tmobile)

update: Ok, maybe it's not location related? Someone in Chicago is now OK, and someone else earlier wasn't...is it device dependent? Account dependent?

There are reports that some Blackberry users are again able to make unrestricted TCP connections to the internet. This means that SOME folks are reporting that they can use all the third party applications they would like, including IM, web browsing, SSH, etc.

In Boston, MA, I'm still unable to do this, and from the previous link, it seems that those in Chicago, IL are similarly affected.

Can anyone shed some light on where these problems exist?

Is there anyone who was affected by this problem for whom it is now fixed? Can you tell us your market location?

Or, if you had to do something special (like say some set of magic words to support: verate klatu ni*cough*) can you post whatever it was that you had to do?

Boy I'd love to be using this blackberry as a full internet software platform. I just hope I don't wind up having to spend an extra $20 to do so.[/url]

Just for my information.... Is the poll only for T-Mobile users? The thread title would attract mainly upset T-Mobile users, but the poll title seems universal;

Default Good point!

Good point, there. I guess the poll is universal, but the topic is particularly focused on trying to figure out what I need to do to get full internet on my blackberry.

Hmm...not sure if there's a way to reconcile that. Oh well, maybe the poll will lure in other blackberry users to read my grousing!
