Default BB Media Problem

Please Login to Remove!

Hi there,

Since 3 days I can't see my media on my Bold 9780. No video's,audio and pictures. When I make a picture on my camera, I can't see it in my picture folder. Really weird.

But now this... when I connect my BB with Computer, and I open it, the folders are all shortcuts. They used to be normal folders! I can watch the media on my pc somehow.

Things I already tried:
  • Battery pull
  • Restore
  • Reset
  • Format

Nothing helped so far... so PLEASE help me!

Regards,

Remy

Thanks!

If it's not a corrupted OS issue try reading this.

I have been experiencing this issue with a few times on a users blackberry.

And just today. It happened to me.

I tried to format the card, and copy over my music and pictures again - nothing.

I tried to copy the music and pictures over to the internal media storage of my 9900, nothing.

any ideas?

the camera albums say i have zero pictures and it says i have zero songs.

Damn. Tried to format both the media card and internal media. Tried brand new media card

Still same thing. Once I format everything I can take pictures and it saves. Once I copy over any random pictures (tried many random ones) it stops working. Tried a different blackberry works fine

Going to try to wipe and reload os

wiped completely and copied one file over, doesn't matter song or a picture.

it stops recognizing music or pictures. formating of the card makes it work till something is copied over.....

no back up was restored...totally out of ideas now.

figured out, that once i format my card or my internal memory.
Take pictures and videos, once i connect to computer and enable usb media and disconnect safely and just by unplugging.

I will lose the pictures and videos.

so something on the computer im guessing. Tested on my work computer with two different blackberrys

Possibly a virus?

will test this out further.

any ideas?

Figured it out. Scan your computer for any viruses or malware.
Found out once I connect any bb to my work computer it automatically changes the file structure making the format not readable by the blackberry.

Just transferred the files to a different computer that was fresh and it worked.
