Wow those poll numbers are kinda depressing.. thats one feature I really wish I had. Just so I could take a quick snap shot of something off-the-wall that I might see now and then on a daily basis..or even a quick snap shot of somthing that is messed up or broken, I mean not all BB users are paper pushers with a corperate desk job, and sealing million dollar deals some are out building and reparing things and other small things that help the big wigs life easier... Ive had to send a picture of parts to places and people befor becuse they didnt know what the hell I was trying to explain to them.. I gess I will have to keep my Moto Razor in my pocket for when I see funny, weird, or just slightly important things happening in the world that I would like to, or need to share with others.. I'm starting to wish I would have went with an HP I-paq 6515

Hey Guys,

I think that RIM will continue to add features to products so long as they can secure them via IT policies. I would not at all be surprised to see Cameras and expandible memory slots in the very near future.

So I can't agree with Cory when he says it will NEVER happen, I would go so far as to say it definatly will....as soon as RIM can secure and control it.

Why would you guys choose NO to an added feature?

I currently carry the BB and a Nokia 6230i with a 1.3mp camera and use it ALL the time. Cant see the downside to having one.

If I had a camera on the 8700c I would ditch the nokia.

Things I use the camera for.
1. taking photos of existing dents on rentals when I travel
2. photos when I am helping write work instructions.
3. when parking is kinda close to a couple people and I think I may get dinged I snap the license plate of the cars on either side. if you drive a beater everyday this doesn't apply to you.
4. great for snapping that priceless moment.

So yeah, I want one.

P.S. For those of you who think a 1.3mp cam is crap, It's probably because you are using it in areas that aren't lighted enough. Sure it's not a Nikon D100, but it's a combined feature with a communications tool. Here are a couple pics I took with my Nokia 6230i at max rez in decent light.

Whether you guys like it or not...It's coming :P

I realize it is double posting, but it is keeping with the spirit of this thread, so here is what I posted in the related thread under general:
Quote:
The problem with cameras on the phones is that anyone that has a position involving sensitive information would not be able to have the phone. BBs are huge in government and I doubt that they would be for long if they could take pictures. Here at my work, noone that worked in a production facility can use a phone with a camera.

Wirelessly posted (7280: BlackBerry8700/4.1.0 Profile/MIDP-2.0 Configuration/CLDC-1.1 VendorID/102 UP.Link/5.1.2.9)

ApneaBlue, you say "If I had a camera on the 8700c I would ditch the nokia." So why not just get a camera and ditch the Nokia?

I dunno. I just find it easier to carry 2 phones...I like being able to make a photo and send it from the nokia. I can't do that from the BB. Even if I had a camera with bluetooth or IR I wouldn't be able to transfer images to the BB. at least no way I know of right now without being at a desktop.
