Hi, first time posting. I have a BB8330 and charge it 2-3x daily. I commute to work and listen to Pandora, watch YouTube videos and talk on the phone, not all at the same time. How can I maximize the battery charge? TiA

If your fully charging the battery then you are maximizing it. how quick do you drain the battery? See if you can determine how many videos cause it to go down one bar. RIM does not indicate usage vs. battery life. If your able to watch a few I would say your doing the best you can.
Also if the battery is more than a year old then you may wish to consider replacing it as Li Ion batteries can get tired and not hold the charge they used to with use.
i think the 8330 already has Li type batterys. the only problem with those is if they fully drain. then they may not recover as high as before. charging 2-4 times a day as the OP is doing is best. Running the BB from and AC source should also keep it up although difficult in some cases.
Thank you everyone. Do I need to look into compressing data? It does have an Li battery. I have a charger that I carry with me for the MetroLink (not always lucky the train will have outlets) and work. I have the back light set to turn off at 5 seconds and shut off at 11:00 pm nightly.
I doubt encryption (content protection) is going to make that much difference. If anything, enabling it would increase demand on power, not lessen, but I expect it would be very small. The screen on for long periods of time watching video, and the radio use downloading audio and video is the issue. Posted via BlackBerryForums.com Mobile
In Options>Security Options>General Settings and turn off Content Protection.
For Media card encryption; Options>Media Card OR (Advanced Options>Media Card, depends on OS Version), Set Encryption Mode to any setting which does not include 'Device'. For example, Password, not Password and Device.
Although I agree with the posts above that Content Protection will not contribute much to battery drain. I believe you have what you have with the battery as you seem to be charging it on a regular basis when it gets low.
